Technical Artist Opportunity
My client is on the lookout for a dynamic Technical Artist to join their team, contributing to both ongoing projects and highly anticipated future releases.
This role is perfect for someone passionate about developing innovative tools, refining production pipelines, and enhancing current technologies and workflows.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a key member of the development team, the Technical Artist will collaborate closely with Production, Design, Animation, Art, QA, and other team members to create features, systems, and tools for various projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with both the Art and Programming teams to ensure our games look stunning and perform seamlessly across a range of PC and Console platforms.
- Develop and optimize shaders, materials, and VFX within Unreal Engine to maximize the rendering pipeline's output.
- Implement and refine visual effects, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for art pipelines and processes.
- Support the art and programming teams with performance and technical implementation.
- Identify and resolve pipeline inefficiencies, proposing new ideas and workflows as needed.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical art challenges to ensure smooth asset integration.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the art team.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of professional experience in a Technical Art role, contributing to at least one shipped title on console, mobile, or PC.
- Strong experience with shader development and optimization.
- Proficient in working with Blueprints, including developing and utilizing existing visual scripting.
- Comfortable with Nanite and Lumen, and knowledgeable about Unreal 5’s render pipeline.
- Experience in 3D modeling, texturing, and animation principles.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with all disciplines.
- Willingness to assist and support team members to maintain forward momentum.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with C++ and scripting languages like Python.
- Background in racing or similar titles.
- Experience creating and utilizing tools across DCC packages such as Maya, Blender, Motionbuilder, Houdini, and Adobe Suite.
- Familiarity with Digital Asset Management tools and their integration into the pipeline.
