As a Technical Sound Designer, you'll be an integral part of our team dedicated to crafting immersive audio experiences for our games. Collaborating closely with Audio Programmers, Sound Designers, and feature teams, you'll bridge the gap between creative sound design and Programming. Your role will involve leveraging your expertise in sound technology to ensure the seamless integration of audio assets into our proprietary open-world engine using tools like Wwise and our in-house systems. You'll have the opportunity to shape the sonic landscape of our games and enhance player immersion through innovative sound design solutions.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with Sound Designers and Audio Programmers to implement and optimize sound assets within Wwise and our proprietary game engine
- Empower Sound Designers by assisting them with Technical Challenges
- Utilize your technical skills to troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues, ensuring a high level of audio fidelity and performance
- Design, implement and maintain complex audio systems, such as dynamic mixing, environmental effects, and spatial audio, to enhance player immersion
- Work closely with feature teams to define technical requirements and constraints for audio implementation, ensuring alignment with game design goals
- Playtest and iterate on audio implementations to achieve the desired emotional impact and gameplay feedback
- Document and communicate best practices and technical guidelines for sound
Who you are
- Solid experience as a sound designer or audio engineer in the gaming industry, with a strong understanding of sound principles and techniques
- Proficiency in audio middleware such as Audiokinetic Wwise, as well as digital audio workstations (DAWs) and audio editing software
- Strong technical background with experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python) and audio programming concepts
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate within cross-discipline teams and translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English
