We are working with a leading AAA console game whose studio culture is rooted in an open, friendly, and collaborative environment. They are now looking for a talented Principal Character Artist to join their team and work on their latest projects.
What you will be doing:
- Work with the Lead Character Artist and Art Director to create high-quality assets in keeping with the project’s vision
- Be responsible for creating high-quality characters and creatures varying in scale and complexity
- Collaborate across multi-disciplinary areas to ensure that characters look great and function well
- Help define pipelines and workflows
- Coach and mentor junior-level members of the Art team
- Model characters using reference photographs and concept art materials
- Identity, anticipate and troubleshoot assets errors and action creative feedback
Who you are:
- An impressive Up-to-date portfolio with recent examples of hard surface characters e.g., robots or Mechas
- Expert level experience with PBR workflows
- Strong sense of silhouette, form, and proportion
- Knowledge and understanding of real-world human and animal anatomy
- Understanding of mesh topology best practises for animation purposes
- Proven ability in optimised 3D asset creation, including LOD generation
- Proficiency with sculpting and modelling tools such as Zbrush, Mudbox, 3D studio Max or Maya
- Worked with industry tracking software e.g., Jira
- Experience working with photoshop and Substance Painter
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
