Lead Character Artist AAA Console Games Studio UK Ref 2365

Our client who specialises in multi-player first person shooter games, is working on an exciting new project and looking to appoint a highly skilled Lead Character Artist to join them, to create and define the look of their characters, while maintaining their high quality standards.     

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Art Director  
• Working closely with the Creative Director
• Mentor and lead the team
• Maintain and drive the quality with the other lead artists
• Liaise and collaborate with the Design Director, creating amazing characters

Requirements

• An experienced Lead Character Artist in the games industry, with at least 3 shipped titles
• Team management experience
• Real-time shader experience
• PBR workflow
• Hard surface and organic 3D modelling and texturing  
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction and functionality (gear, weapons & robotics)
• Strong understanding of form, silhouette, shape, texture, colour and lighting
• 3DS Max or Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop

• Character skinning/ rigging
• Unreal 4
• Marvelous Designer and Substance Painter is a bonus
