Job Description  

A Guildford based Games studio are currently looking for a Server Programmer to work on a new innovative mobile title which they’re aiming to dominate its genre.

Founded by established industry experts the team are made up of award winning developers who have come from AAA backgrounds and have a history of releasing a range of high quality games some of which have been adored in the games industry.  

The studio requires this person to work closely with the Lead Server Programmer in maintaining the server and its capabilities. The Server is already set up and ready to go so your task will be to work on enhancing its features to be able to cope with a huge demand and be involved with how quickly users connect to the game without any issues. 

The game will be exciting and fast paced so part of your role must ensure that the gameplay process is smooth and lag free. You will also have a hand in developing the code for fair matchmaking features and player leaderboards.
The ideal candidate will have experience of implementing cutting edge multiplayer experiences and will be able to effectively communicate with designers to achieve this goal. The role will require you to wear multiple hats from overall structuring the perfect online gameplay experience to implementing commerce systems such as payments etc.

Requirements 

  • Strong experience with C#
  • Games industry experience 
  • Some exposure to AWS
  • A bonus if you’re familiar with EC2 DynamoDB Cloudwatch
  • Unity experience would be a plus 
This role is 100% remote working initially (you must be UK based) and can be flexible to be either remote indefinitely or some split weeks in-house (when it’s safe).
