Job Description Gamer Network is looking to hire a generalist Web Developer to join our experienced in-house technology and design team. The team will be working on new and exciting projects, maintaining and extending our existing websites, and supporting our global editorial, sales and events teams.

The ideal candidate will be a bright, enthusiastic engineer with high standards, good instincts for solving technical problems, and the capability to take direction and learn from – and with – your colleagues.

Responsibilities Include
  • Making nice websites!
  • Advocating good design, UI and UX principles.
  • Follow coding quality standards that promote cooperative working.
  • Finding practical solutions to sometimes urgent problems.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team of content creators, designers, stakeholders and management to deliver projects.
  • Evaluate new technologies that have the potential to help our work.


We expect candidates to show a strong grasp of some or any of the following:
  • HTML + CSS
  • Javascript + jQuery
  • Python + Django
  • SQL + Redis + Elasticsearch
  • Any server-side scripting language
  • Interface design (with good aesthetic sensibilities)

We also use these technologies, and so the ideal candidate will either feel comfortable working in this environment, or will be excited by the prospect of learning something new in a supportive team!
