We are excited to be building Crayta - an original, accessible, and collaborative game-making ecosystem, using Unreal Engine 4.

We are looking for a QA Lead to drive quality improvements to Crayta. Using a methodical approach, having a keen eye for detail, and possessing excellent communication skills, you will take responsibility for coverage testing in order to maintain the quality of each release.

This role will suit someone seeking an exciting new challenge with significant responsibilities and room for personal development within the QA role over a long-term project.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute QA test plans and procedures
  • Maintain active triage and regression on current issues
  • Work with evolving platform-holder guidelines to drive game compliance testing
  • Track live game performance metrics from service releases
  • Work within the development team to eliminate recurring issues
  • Communicate, document, and troubleshoot issues and bugs
  • Work with the team to maintain release cadence while balancing risks, based on test coverage
  • Document feedback from external players, using a variety of data sources, into actionable issues
  • Work with outsource teams to increase test coverage at appropriate points in game lifecycle
  • Evangelise bug prevention methods and encourage quality responsibility within the team


Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience of QA within games
  • A genuine passion for QA and its role on a team
  • Track record of building and performing test plans
  • Proactive and able to work autonomously
  • Systematic approach to problem solving
  • Excellent communicator with both internal and external stakeholders (including players and platform holders)
  • A drive for continuous improvement both professionally and on the game


Desirable
  • Track record of producing effective test plans for online multiplayer games
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Understanding of QA assistance tools: Jenkins, Slack, BugSplat, Metabase etc
  • Experience iterating internal compliance tests for rapidly evolving console platforms
  • Track record leading outsource QA teams
  • Familiarity with the QA requirements of delivering Games as a Service
  • Experience collating feedback and performance metrics from players
  • Enthusiasm for UGC titles and new technology
  • Any experience of scripting or modding an advantage.


In terms of formal qualifications, it is agreed that levels of attainment should not be set. At Unit 2 Games  Ltd we adopt an approach that relevant higher qualifications are ‘preferred’ as opposed to ‘required’. Respective QA skills are paramount and to be considered for this role demonstrable and relevant skills and ability will be expected and sought.
