Job Description We are working with an established, highly experienced and successful PC and console game developer, seeking their next Technical Artist to add to their studio's talent.

Working closely with other departments and with the Lead Artist and Producer to establish project requirements, implementation and aesthetics.  Ensuring artistic vision can be maintained through asset creation that does not exceed technical limits with specific subjects of focus including:

  • Establishing technical limitations
  • Custom tool building
  • Workflow and Asset optimisation
  • Engine support/Lighting solutions
  • Shaders and materials
  • Great visual effects (VFX)
  • Post process or screen space effects
  • Giving input on relevant design, programming or production issues and providing creative solutions
  • Good communicator

Tech Requirements

  • Knowledge of one 3D package - Maya skills preferred
  • Knoweldge of a 2D package - Photoshop
  • Scripting ability - Python preferred
  • Good knowledge of game engine workflows and an understanding of graphics rendering
