Description 
  • we are looking for an enthusiastic game-centric individual to join our growing team.
  • native speaker of one of following languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, Portuguese Brazil, Japanese, Chinese or Korean

General Overview of the position: Language Specialist:
  • support the localisation team in all matters related to their native language

 Vendor Management support:
  • support the maintenance of the vendor database, as well as addition and vetting of new vendors

 Project Management
  • support the project management team in anything required for the completion of a project

Main duties and responsibilities:     Language Specialist
  • assist in translation and review tasks
  • assess in the linguistic validation of the quality of the translation in videogames and report any problems founds
  • and anything else deemed relevant that supports the department and the company as a whole
  • find and report linguistic and implementation issues found on video games
  • provide suitable fixes/alternative translations to errors found. These alternative translations must comply with:

* high quality* follow manufacturer terminology and glossaries
  • follow video game style
  • assisting in translations and review of game content and other material
  • assisting with quality control of external suppliers

  Administration of Vendor Management Activities:
  • manage the recruitment cycle of incoming vendor applications, from reference checks to testing prior to bringing them on board
  • negotiate rates with suitable talented vendors and maintain database up to date
  • work closely with LOC and QA teams to support recruitment needs
  • develop performance monitoring of resources and provide feedback where required
  • identify resource gaps and proactively recruit specialists to expand our talent pool
  • conduct regular key account reviews with PMs to ensure availability and retention of key resources at competitive rates

XTRF management responsibilities:
  • be fully knowledgeable of XTRF
  • creation of new vendor accounts within US systems
  • maintenance of all existing accounts within XTRF as part of daily activities
  • ensure that all information entered to XTRF is as completed as possible and up to date

    Project management
  • professionalism at all times and quality excellence in all work performed
  • handle localisation requests and queries from clients
  • managing client relationship and client expansion
  • develop client’s current workflows
  • provide swift answer and resolution to quality issues
  • perform project planning and risk assessment prior allocation
  • establish the most efficient process for a given project/client
  • responsible for project mark-ups
  • maintain resources relationship and ensure efficient communication
  • final deliverables quality responsibility
  • maintaining project tracking, and ensure timely delivery
  • assist with quality control of external suppliers
  • work closely with the sales development team to establish client patterns, pursue sales opportunities and ensure outstanding relationship is maintained with all clients

  Other duties

  • display ability to recommend solutions to all interested departments
  • maintain live communication with all departments and management as and when required.

Essential requirements 
  • games or marketing industry experience is a must
  • strong communication, with tact and diplomacy
  • strong organization skills and able to manage time effectively
  • be a source of informed knowledge to others
  • display a professional and engaging manner with colleagues and external resources
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • business mindset
  • quality focused with a keen eye for detail

  Education 
  • bachelor university degree, particular in a linguistic or computer related areas.

  Desirable requirements  
  • of a resourceful and creative nature
  • knowledge of CAT Tools, in particular memoQ and Xbench
  • strong communicator
  • ability to perform the role of a good ambassador for the organisation at all time

  Experience 
  • ideally previous work experience as a localisation assistance in testing games
  • ideally the candidate will have a good knowledge of video games.
