Job Description Talofa Games is seeking a remote full-time Lead Game Designer to join the team for our new social running game in development. We’re looking for someone passionate about working with a collaborative remote-first team to develop truly innovative gameplay around fitness and gaming. This individual will work with different team members to build game systems and monetization models and measure key performance indicators while developing on a cutting-edge new platform. 

Our team won the grand prize for the Niantic Beyond Reality Contest in 2019, and have been working on our award-winning social running game since! This is a first of its kind social running game and we’re excited to be working together on it alongside a fully funded talented team that wants to create games for change. Together, we’ve created independent games for the last 10 years with over 9.1 million downloads on the Apple App and Google Play Stores. Responsibilities:
  • Understand the high-level vision of the game and be able to translate the vision into gameplay systems and design docs designed that can be used by everyone to build all of the experiences in the game        
  • Communicate with different team members across audio, art, development, narrative, and production in making key design decisions. 
  • Design game economies, monetization strategies, and features to improve product KPIs in the long and short term 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and create and maintain a calendar of live game events, content and feature updates designed to improve short and long term product goals.


Requirements:
  • 4+ years of professional experience in mobile game design
  • A love for running or gamified fitness products and games for social impact
  • Experience monetizing and operating free-to-play/multiplayer games in a live environment.


Nice to have:
  • Unity experience 
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, communication and presentational skills.
